deep winter sauna series

the gift of winter

with kate & sarah

Have you ever made time for yourself to truly drop into the gift of winter?

Can you imagine slowing down enough to be able to listen deeply to the fertile void of your womb?

This winter, Kate and Sarah have created the most beautiful, sacred offering. We are holding an overwintering sauna series to nourish and sustain our precious souls through the dark season.

We are creating a container for women to drop deeply into the darkness of winter and intentionally follow the seasonal process of death and rebirth.

This will support you to tune into what your body truly needs in order to descend into the darkness, to rest deeply and to emerge

This is about tuning into the fertile void of your womb, listening to the darkness, embracing the slowness of winter and feeding yourself with your dreams, accessing the gentleness and beauty that comes with this.

Each month we will be holding a Ceremonial Sauna at Mount Pleasant Eco Park – a space to drop in the darkness with other women, held by the sauna whisks, drum, song, stillness and silence.

Three women in a dark room with a large window showing the full moon, surrounded by mist or smoke, engaged in a ritual with drums and branches.

sauna series

We are holding 5 Saunas from October through to February….. 7pm-9pm

Tuesday October 14th: 7-9pm - Letting Go – Dropping into the liminal space of autumn where we have the opportunity shed and release that which prevents us from truly resting over winter.

Tuesday November 18th: 7-9pm - Surrender – As we descend further into the darkness, stripping ourselves down to the bare bones – beginning to listen to what the winter is asking of us and what our soul is calling for.

Tuesday December 16th: 7-9pm – Death – Surrendering completely into the fertile void of darkness and the womb in the energy of solstice.

Tuesday Jan 6th: 7-9pm – Stillness – Resting in the fertile void

Tuesday Feb 17th: 7-9pm  - Awakening – As we step towards spring, awakening with gentleness and clarity and honouring what it is that winter has gifted us.

These sessions are clothing optional.

This series will be held as a closed container so that women can follow the whole process from start to finish in a safe space, deepening with one another as we navigate our way through the dark months.

WHAT’S IS A ritual SAUNA?

We can sit in a sauna and chat a bit and sweat a bit and relax.

Or we can use the power of ceremony to transform the sauna into a ritual space for deep release and integration.

Our ceremonial saunas are unique and powerful experiences.

These spaces are akin to the Sweat Lodges or Inipis in that they are sacred spaces held for purification, connecting with spirit, connecting more deeply with ourselves. However, our spaces do not follow these indigenous traditions - they are something we have created ourselves in the sauna space - they are soft, feminine spaces held by drumming and singing and the support of sisters and the womb matrix we create when we gather together.

Sarah uses an old sauna tradition of whisking to support the sauna–bundles of branches and herbs are utilised to facilitate the movement of steam and energy in the sauna they are also applied to the body in forms of massage and compresses for deep physical and emotional release.

We hold these spaces in deep prayer and reverence.

Safety is at the core of all we do - we are trauma-informed facilitators and we understand that in order to go deep, we need to feel safe - our aim is to create a safe-enough space for everyone who comes - we are constantly uplevelling our practice and if you have any concerns, please contact us.

Our spaces are clothing optional - YOU CHOOSE- if you want to be naked, you are welcome. If you want to wear whatever you need, you are welcome.
