Gathering, honouring…..

Something extraordinary happens when women gather in circle – some kind of powerful magic.

I’ve seen it time and time again and I still cannot explain it.

Around the Wheel of the Year celebration (Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lamas, Mabon, Samhain, Yule), I host women’s sacred circle healing ceremonies with my dear friend and colleague Tracey Hill of Rise Rooted.

These sacred ceremonies are powerful healing containers – we work with cacao, breath, movement, sound and sacred circle to create a space where we can rise and transform together.

During these ceremonies we may:

integrate the experience of being born in a female body in a culture container moulded by thousands of years of patriarchy
heal wounds from our own personal trauma
experience ancestral healing
reclaim our wildness
reclaim our witchiness
expand our experience of our sexual energy and sexuality
connect with the power of our moon blood
deepen our connection to the earth and honour her
interupt patriarchal cultural patterns
be seen by other women in the fullness of our beings
connect with one another through the womb matrix

Ostara

Spring Equinox - or Ostara - marks the transition from the dark half to the light half of the year...

Corresponding in our menstrual cycle with pre-ovulation and in our life cycle with the time of the Maiden…Ostara asks us to take care of this tender, young part of our soul.

During this time of growth, of fertility, of blossoming and blooming – the effervescence of spring – there are parts of us that need tending to with gentleness and love so that we may expand with the energy of spring.

Menarche

Menarche is the rite of passage that most of us pass through during our transition to womanhood – the onset of our menstrual cycle, or our first bleed.

This potent rite of passage is at best negated by our culture and many of us passed through this transformation encumbered by the shadows of our cultural attitudes to menstruation.

As a result, we step into our womanhood carrying shame, confusion, fear, disgust or various other negative imprints around our body, our blood and our potential as women. This manifests as discomfort in our menstrual cycle, disconnect from our sexual energy and an inability to inhabit our full creative range.

In this Equinox celebration, we will be tending gently and deeply to our Inner Maiden, meeting her at her menarche and re-imprinting these tired old stories with a new story of what it means to be a woman who bleeds or has bled.

In this way we reclaim the forgotten and shamed parts of our psyche and form new ways of being Women in Power.

If you are not cycling for any reason – including having made the menopausal transition – this ceremony will still be potent for you.

If you have done this ceremony before – we invite you to keep spiralling – we do this every year in some form and we go deeper and deeper into the layers.

The Ceremony

We will be using the tools of circle, breath, movement, sound, energy and presence in order to transform: to release that which no longer serves us, and to call in that which does.

We are working with Mama Cacao to open our hearts and help guide us through this process.

These sessions can be potent and everyone experiences them in a different way – there can be rage, grief, sadness, confusion, ecstacy, celebration. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable and sometimes blissful. The more we can allow ourselves to experience the full range of what we are capable of feeling, the more we can step into the truth of who we are.

You will always be held with a commitment to safety and love, and in your sovereignty – you are free to follow our invitations to move or breathe, or to sit quietly by the fire!

The dance and movement part of the ceremony is clothing optional and there is absolutely no obligation to remove your clothing.
